Seconds bit
The small pivot or pinion carrying the seconds hand, typically on the fourth wheel.
Explanation
The seconds bit is the small extended pivot, usually of the fourth wheel, that carries the seconds hand. In pocket watches with small seconds it passes through the dial at 6 o'clock. A bent seconds bit makes the hand foul the dial or sub-dial — a common cause of a watch that stops with the hands apparently free.
