A redial is a dial that has been repainted or reprinted rather than surviving in original finish. Redials range from skilled restorations to crude work with wrong fonts, spacing and signatures. Signs include soft or glossy printing, incorrect tracks, and paint over fired-enamel damage. A declared redial is legitimate conservation in some cases; an undeclared one misrepresents the watch.
