Original condition
The state of an object as it left the maker, with no later alteration, replacement or refinishing.
Explanation
Original condition means the object survives as it left the maker, without replaced dials, re-polished cases or refinished movements. Perfect originality is rare in working antiques, so the term is best used with specifics: which parts are original, which are period replacements, which are later. Honest description of non-original parts is a cornerstone of ethical dealing.
