Renewed fusee line

A documented replacement of the flexible line transmitting power to a fusee.

Explanation

The V&A physical description of Nicolas Bernard watch 2359-1855 specifies a fusee with a renewed gut line. This is a statement about one replaced component, not proof that the entire movement is later or that the watch is currently functional. Retain the catalogue’s material wording and separate the replacement date, which is not supplied, from the watch’s seventeenth-century date. Gut-driven fusees must not be described as chain fusees without evidence. Examination and replacement require qualified professional assessment rather than trial winding.
