Gathering pallet
A star-shaped or finger cam that advances a rack one tooth at a time in a striking train.
Explanation
The gathering pallet is the finger or star cam in a rack striking train that, rotating once per strike, gathers up the rack one tooth at a time until the strike count is complete. Wear or bending of the gathering pallet causes missed or extra strikes — a frequent clock repair.
