Flying tourbillon

A tourbillon carriage supported from below only, with no upper bridge, so it appears to float.

Explanation

Attributed to Alfred Helwig at the German watchmaking school in Glashütte in the 1920s, the cantilevered support requires greater rigidity in the lower bearing than a conventionally bridged tourbillon.
