Glossary · Complication

Grande complication

A watch combining several major complications, classically striking, chronograph and calendar work.

Explanation

There is no single fixed definition, but the term is generally reserved for pieces combining a striking mechanism (such as a minute repeater) with at least two other major complications, for example a perpetual calendar and a chronograph.
