Poising

Balancing a balance wheel so it has no heavy spot in any position.

Explanation

A balance out of poise gives different rates in vertical positions. Poising is carried out on poising tools or dynamically on a timing machine, removing weight from screws or adjusting timing washers — never by bending the rim.
