Lépine calibre

A thin movement layout with separate bridges and the winding at twelve, in line with the seconds.

Explanation

Named after Jean-Antoine Lépine's late eighteenth-century rethinking of movement architecture, which abandoned the full top plate and fusee and made slim watches possible. Open-face watches with crown, seconds and hands in one line are described as Lépine-set.
