Perpetual calendar

A calendar complication that automatically accounts for month lengths and leap years.

Explanation

Perpetual calendars use a stack of accumulated levers and cams reading a four-year cycle; correcting one after the mainspring has run down, without care for the day-night cycle, can damage the mechanism.
