Dynamic-scattering mode (DSM)
An early liquid-crystal display mode identified in electronic-watch histories.
Explanation
Seiko Museum’s account distinguishes dynamic-scattering-mode LCDs from the field-effect LCD used in its 1973 six-digit 06LC. Retain the exact mode only when the source establishes it. A rectangular display or an early date is not sufficient to identify DSM: the Science Museum Group Waltham record identifies LCD but does not specify the mode. For component analysis, consult an exact movement or display reference rather than infer construction from case style.
