Winding square
The squared end of the barrel or setting arbor that a key or stem engages to wind or set a watch.
Explanation
In key-wound watches the winding square projects through the case back or dial to receive a separate key; in keyless work it is engaged internally by the crown-and-stem train instead, removing the need for a loose key.
