Winding stem
The shaft connecting the crown to the keyless works, transmitting winding and hand-setting motion into the movement.
Explanation
The winding stem is the shaft connecting the crown to the keyless work. Turning it winds the mainspring; pulling it out moves it to the hand-setting position. Stems are specific to a calibre and case, and replacement stems must be the correct pattern and cut to the correct length so the crown seats properly.
