Swan-neck regulator

A fine-adjustment spring shaped like a swan's neck that positions the regulator index against a locking screw.

Explanation

Common on higher-grade pocket-watch and clock movements, it allows minute rate corrections via a micrometer screw acting against the spring's tension, rather than moving the index by hand alone.
