Quickset
A mechanism allowing a calendar date (or day) to be advanced directly, without cycling the hands through midnight repeatedly.
Explanation
A quickset mechanism lets the date (and often the day) be advanced directly, usually by an extra crown position or a pusher, instead of winding the hands through 24 hours per day. Non-quickset calendars should not be forced backward through the change point. On many movements the quickset must not be operated near midnight while the calendar is engaging.
