Quickset

A mechanism allowing a calendar date (or day) to be advanced directly, without cycling the hands through midnight repeatedly.

Explanation

Early calendar watches generally lacked a quickset and had to be corrected by moving the hands round the dial; a quickset corrector, often a recessed pusher, lets the date jump independently, now standard on most date-display watches.
