Lugs

Lugs are the projections on a wristwatch case that hold the strap or bracelet, usually with spring bars. Early wristwatches converted from small pocket watches often had wire lugs soldered on; later cases had lugs formed with the case. Lug shape, width and signs of re-soldering or heavy polishing are important when judging originality and condition.
