Hunter case
A pocket watch case fitted with a hinged metal lid covering the dial and crystal.
Explanation
The hunter cover protects the glass and is opened by pressing the crown or a separate catch; a half-hunter has a small glazed aperture for reading the time without opening the lid. The style contrasts with the open-face case.
