Gyromax balance

A free-sprung balance wheel with adjustable weights on its rim for fine poising and rate correction.

Explanation

Developed by Patek Philippe, small movable weights set into the rim allow the effective moment of inertia, and hence the rate, to be adjusted without a conventional regulator index.
