Dynamic poising
Poising performed while the balance is oscillating, correcting for hairspring as well as balance imbalance.
Explanation
Dynamic poising corrects errors that only appear when the balance is swinging with the hairspring fitted, which static poising cannot reveal. It is done by adjusting timing screws while observing rates in vertical positions, traditionally on the timing machine. It is one of the most demanding adjusting operations and a hallmark of chronometer-grade work.
