Broaching

Enlarging or truing a hole with a tapered, multi-faceted hand tool.

Explanation

A cutting broach is turned within a hole — a jewel setting, a wheel's centre hole, or a case aperture — to enlarge or true it to size, a routine bench operation in both repair and manufacture.
