Breguet overcoil

A raised, curved terminal curve on a flat hairspring that improves its concentric development.

Explanation

By lifting the outer coil above the plane of the spring and curving it inward, the overcoil allows the spring to breathe more symmetrically, improving isochronism over a flat spiral of the same length.
