Case and Dial Construction
The carriage clock is housed in a brass case finished to retain its original appearance. The structure is characterized by its use of beveled glass panels on all sides, allowing visibility into the movement. A notable feature is the oval beveled viewing window located on the top of the case, which provides a direct view of the platform escapement.
The face consists of a white enamel dial featuring black spade-style hands. The hour indicators are presented in Roman numerals. The auction description states that the dial is clean and contrasts with the brass housing, while the case itself displays light wear commensurate with its age.
