Replacement parts
Non-original components fitted during a watch's working or restoration life.
Explanation
Replacement parts are components fitted after manufacture: staffs, mainsprings, crystals, crowns, hands, dials. Some replacement is normal in a working watch; what matters is correctness and disclosure. 'New old stock' original parts exist for many calibres; where they do not, parts must be made or adapted, and a good watchmaker records what was done.
