Pin vice

A small hand-held vice, usually with interchangeable collets, for gripping fine parts such as pivots and screws.

Explanation

A pin vice lets the watchmaker hold a small component securely while filing, polishing or turning it by hand or in a lathe, and is one of the basic hand tools found on any watchmaker's bench.
