Case and Dial Design
The case is constructed from stainless steel as a three-body design, finished with both polished and brushed surfaces. It incorporates a graduated unidirectional revolving bezel intended for calculating decompression times during diving activities. The case back is secured by six screws and features decorative engravings related to the history and achievements of the Ulysse Nardin brand. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and a screwed-down winding-crown is present to assist in water resistance.
The dial is finished in black with a textured surface, populated by applied luminous indexes. It includes a subsidiary dial for seconds with a guilloché pattern and a central date reference, "1846," printed in red. A power reserve indicator is situated at the 12 o'clock position, while a date aperture is located at the 6 o'clock position. Luminous steel épée-style hands provide legibility for timekeeping and monitoring the dive bezel.
