Case and Dial Construction
The Patek Philippe Reference 5131R is housed in a 39.5mm rose gold case. The dial displays a central cloisonné enamel map, which includes the continents of the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Surrounding this central feature is a rotating bi-color 24-hour ring, with blue sections representing night hours and silver sections representing daylight hours.
An outer silvered city ring lists various global locations to allow the user to track local time relative to their current position. The functionality of this world time mechanism, including the synchronization of the 24-city ring and the rotating 24-hour ring, is managed via a dedicated pusher installed on the side of the case at the 10 o'clock position.
