Construction and Design
The F.P. Journe Centigraphe Sport, introduced in 2011, is characterized by its reliance on aluminum for its structural components. It is reported to be the first wristwatch globally to utilize aluminum for its case, movement caliber, and integrated bracelet. This engineering approach serves to reduce the overall mass of the timepiece to approximately 55 grams, balancing weight reduction with complex mechanical functionality.
The external design integrates protective rubber elements applied to the case and bracelet, intended to offer additional impact resistance during active use. The dial features a chronograph configuration comprised of three sub-dials. The internal mechanism is visible through a transparent case back, displaying the aluminum caliber architecture.
