Sitzendorf

Partially verified

Figural porcelain, clocks, chandeliers, and lace-decorated porcelain figurines

History

The porcelain manufactory in Sitzendorf was established in 1850 by Wilhelm Liebmann after he received permission from the Prince.

The factory suffered a destructive fire in 1858 but was subsequently rebuilt, continuing operations under various ownership structures. Alfred and Carl Wilhelm Voigt took over the factory in 1884, shifting the product focus toward lace-decorated figurines in the Meissen style. In 1896, the firm was restructured as a limited company with Albert Schönau as a major shareholder.

Following a period of economic hardship and postwar changes, the company underwent privatization in 1990 and operated as a limited liability company.
