Stepping motor

The small electromagnetic motor that advances the hands of a quartz watch in discrete steps.

Explanation

A Lavet-type stepping motor receives one electrical pulse per second from the divider circuit and rotates a rotor by a fixed angle, driving the going train through conventional gearing.
