Sector (kite) dial
A dial layout using shaped sectors, often an arrow or kite form, rather than a plain circle for subsidiary displays.
Explanation
A sector dial divides the dial into contrasting zones or 'sectors', often with a two-tone finish separating the hour track from the centre. Popular in the 1930s–40s, it gives a distinctly Art Deco character. The term is sometimes confused with the 'kite' or arrow marker layouts of the same era. Original two-tone finishes are easily lost in refinishing, so crisp, correctly grained sectors are a point of originality.
