Retailer signature
A name on the dial or movement identifying the seller rather than the manufacturer.
Explanation
A retailer signature is the seller's name on a dial or movement — Tiffany & Co., Shreve & Co. and hundreds of local jewellers are familiar examples. Some retail signatures add collectability in their own right. The signature tells you who sold the watch, not who made it; both may matter for valuation and research.
