Loupe

A monocular magnifying eyeglass used by watchmakers, held in the eye socket to leave both hands free.

Explanation

Loupes are graded by magnification power; higher powers are used for jewelling and hairspring work, lower powers for general assembly, and the tool's use for extended close work is one of the trade's defining images.
