Case Construction
The Reverso case design is characterized by its reversible mechanism, which allows the wearer to rotate the watch head within a carriage to protect the crystal and dial during activities such as polo. The case of this specific model is finished in yellow gold and measures 23mm by 39mm. It incorporates a sapphire crystal and a crown signed with the brand logo.
The design, which dates back to a 1931 patent by Alfred Chauvot, aims to protect the internal components from external impacts. The carriage of this watch features the characteristic horizontal gadroons at its upper and lower edges, a detail maintained from the early iterations of the Reverso design.
