Louis Audemars

Partially verified

High-grade complicated watches including repeaters and perpetual calendars

Life & work

The firm was established in 1811 in Le Brassus by Louis-Benjamin Audemars.

According to the Simonin family history, it was the first enterprise in the Vallée de Joux to produce complete, signed watches rather than supplying components to Geneva manufacturers. The same history credits the firm with its own stem-winding mechanisms, perpetual calendars and minute-repeater systems.
