Handcrafted Black Forest cuckoo clocks

Life & work

Anton Schneider founded his clockmaking workshop in 1848 in a farmhouse located in Schonach, Germany.

The business evolved through six generations of family ownership, transitioning into a specialized manufactory. In 1951, the firm was officially registered as the limited partnership Anton Schneider Söhne, and the following year it moved into a dedicated factory building on Triberger Straße. The company gained international recognition for its mechanical timepieces, which often featured traditional woodcarvings and intricate, lively scenes.

After 177 years of continuous operation, the company faced significant financial challenges that resulted in insolvency in August 2025.
