Historical significance

  • Painted wood case with a arched form. The top is surmounted by a brass finial. Matching console.
  • Brass dial, repoussé with Roman numerals and decoration (the numerals filled with black wax). Hands in cut and engraved brass.
  • Spring-driven movement with verge escapement, thread suspension with cycloid. Striking of the hours and quarters on a bell.
  • Movement signed “Droz sur le Pont à La Chaux-de-Fonds”.
