Arched wooden case painted with polychrome flowers on a green ground. Four scrolled feet and a finial surmounted by an ovoid form, all gilt, as are the mouldings, feet and door frame. Glazed front door composed of a convex bezel and a flat glass panel. Glazed side openings. Matching console.

Historical significance

  • Arched wooden case painted with polychrome flowers on a green ground. Four scrolled feet and a finial surmounted by an ovoid form, all gilt, as are the mouldings, feet and door frame. Glazed front door composed of a convex bezel and a flat glass panel. Glazed side openings. Matching console.
  • Convex white enamel dial, painted with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. Openworked, engraved and gilt brass hands with a symmetrical design.
  • Spring-driven movement with an eight-day power reserve, rack striking for the quarters and hours, pull-repeat mechanism and verge escapement.
