Historical significance
- The silver case back is decorated with a finely painted enamel mythological scene depicting Jupiter seducing a young nymph under the watchful gaze of Juno.
- The white enamel dial is painted with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the quarter hours. The centre has a date circle graduated from 1 to 31.
- The gilded brass movement has a going barrel and a cylinder escapement. A circular bridge, visible on the back plate and pierced with engraved scrolls and foliage, serves as a pivot for both the barrel and the balance.
