Historical significance
- The polished silver case has a winding hole on the back concealed by a small movable silver disk.
- The silver dial has engraved Roman numerals, separated by polished lozenges, to indicate the hours, and Arabic numerals for the minutes. There is a cartouche in the centre bearing the watchmaker’s signature and the date aperture is below. The blued steel hour and minute hands are pierced.
- The movement, fitted with a verge escapement, has four fluted baluster pillars. The large single-footed balance cock, engraved and pierced with scrolls and imaginary birds, covers a three-armed balance with a short spring. There is a ruby endstone.
