The case is polished gold.
Painted on the main white enamel dial are two small dials: the bottom one is for the hours and minutes, the top one for the date and day of the week with the sign of its respective planet. At the centre, a large hand indicates the month with its number of days at one end and its corresponding astrological sign at the other. There is also a centre seconds hand.
On the back, the dial is divided into two parts: in the top half, the daylight hours are painted in Arabic numerals on white enamel decorated with a sun. In the bottom half, the nocturnal hours are painted in white Roman numerals on black enamel spangled with stars. A hand on the small dial indicates the age and phases of the moon.
The movement has a fusee with chain and a cylinder escapement.
