Historical significance
- The gold knob, which houses the alarm-watch, is engraved and chased. There is a count’s crown at its base surmounted by the monogram GM. Decorated with scrolls and foliage, the cover has an engraved landscape (a house on the shores of a lake) at the centre.
- The white enamel dial is pierced with two winding holes: one for the movement, the other for the alarm. The Breguet hands are blued steel.
- The movement has a fusee with chain, a verge escapement, and an alarm mechanism. The gilded brass balance cock is engraved and pierced with a crown motif.
