Historical significance

  • Watch “à tact”. Case signed LE ROY under translucent enamel. Punch marks: case manufacturer AG (Amy Gros), title mark (cock), and hallmark (head) on inside of case-back. Dome engraved: LE ROY AU PALAIS ROYAL N° 88 N° 2455. Circa 1800.
  • The gold engine-turned case, which is covered with a brown translucent enamel, is encircled by twelve pearls and has an arrow-shaped hand set with brilliants.
  • The dome has a small eccentric silver hour dial with a Breguet hand and the hours engraved in Arabic numerals.
  • The gilded brass movement with bridges has a virgule escapement, a going barrel, a three-armed brass balance, and a flat blued steel balance spring. The regulator index is regulated through a sector-shaped aperture in the dome.
