Historical significance
- The whole case is covered with multicoloured champlevé enamel, with a flowered fan design on the back.
- The white enamel dial has Roman numerals for the hours and blued steel Breguet hands.
- The movement has a verge escapement, a fusee with chain, and a gilded brass balance cock, engraved and pierced with geometric motifs.
- In the early 19th century, enamel scenes in the neo-classical style were replaced by romantic scenes, often in champlevé enamel. With its multicoloured champlevé enamel and translucent enamel on engine-turned grounds, this watch is a fine example of the skilled craftsmanship of the period.
