The enamel painting on the case-back shows Venus and Cupid. The former, presented as an elegantly dressed young woman, is taking an arrow out of a quiver to give to Cupid. Both the bezel and the medallion are encircled by a decoration of half-pearls.

Historical significance

  • The enamel painting on the case-back shows Venus and Cupid. The former, presented as an elegantly dressed young woman, is taking an arrow out of a quiver to give to Cupid. Both the bezel and the medallion are encircled by a decoration of half-pearls.
  • The white enamel dial is painted with large decorative Arabic numerals. The hour hand is arrow-shaped.
  • The gilded brass movement with bridges has a hanging barrel, fitted with stopwork, and a virgule escapement.
