La Côte-aux-Fées, Not recorded

Piaget

Partially verified

Swiss luxury watch and jewellery house

History

Georges-Édouard Piaget founded the firm in 1874 within a workshop on the family farm in La Côte-aux-Fées, initially specializing in pocket watches and movements.

Timothée Piaget assumed leadership in 1911, shifting the company's focus toward the production of wristwatches. The brand was formally registered as a trademark in 1943, enabling the firm to market its own creations directly. Under the management of the founder's grandsons, Gérald and Valentin Piaget, the company expanded internationally and diversified into high-end jewelry, eventually opening a factory in Geneva.

In 1988, the company was acquired by the Vendôme Luxury Group, which is currently known as Richemont.
